3U-12U Structures

C3S offers two different designs when it comes to structures so that every customer can find the right solution. The one used during the Radcube mission has a stackable design along with unique wiring system, while the other design allows flexible payload and subsystem positioning for optimal configurability.

STRUCTURES

Radcube 3U Structure

C3S has developed a 3U CubeSat structure that uses backplane PCB for bus communication which is intended to provide independent assembly order, simplifies the stack-up tolerances and uses space graded interface connectors. Its benefits include:

  • High reliability electronic, structural and thermal connections

  • Access to individual cards and units during integration and testing

  • Simplified stack-up tolerances

  • Dedicated and independent thermal interfaces for all cards

C3S’s CubeSat structures are developed to provide optimal configurability. The design is based on simple modular elements and standard attachment points. Multiple subunit architectures can be accommodated, such as: stacked PCB-, backplane-, PCB card retainer- and cable harness design. With these features our platform represents a fully market ready and flexible solution in terms of innovative new space approach.
