Blue Skies Space and C3S LLC welcomed a European Commission delegate to the C3S lab to inspect the completed Mauve satellite.

Marko Curavić, the Head of Unit for Space Research at the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), visited our lab last week, where he was welcomed by Dr Marcell Tessenyi, CEO of Blue Skies Space, and Gyula Horváth, CEO of C3S. The visit took place following the successful integration of the Mauve satellite and the completion of its pre-launch environmental testing campaign.

During the visit, Mr Curavić commented, “Mauve exemplifies the strategic deployment of European technological assets in space science, introducing a scalable model for international collaboration, data exploitation, and knowledge transfer.

Mauve is equipped with a 13 cm telescope that will observe hundreds of stars in the Ultraviolet and visible wavelengths. The data from Mauve will address a number of science objectives, including providing a greater understanding of stellar flares, their impact on the habitability of neighbouring exoplanets and the stability of different star types.

Mauve is now ready for routine final checks and will soon be shipped for launch aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-15 in October 2025.

“We thank the European Commission and the UK Research and Innovation teams for their continued support of the Mauve programme,” said Dr Marcell Tessenyi. “With all the major pre-launch milestones completed, we look forward to launching this innovative science satellite.”
