We have reached another major milestone with our redundant, high-reliable 16U satellite platform!

The scientific payload for Blue Skies Space’s (BSSL) Mauve mission has successfully been integrated in C3S cleanroom environment in accordance with BSSL’s specifications.

Mauve will observe hundreds of stars in ultraviolet and visible wavelengths, advancing our understanding of stellar flares, exoplanet habitability, and stellar evolution.

LONDON/BUDAPEST, THURSDAY, JUNE 12, 2025C3S LLC, the spacecraft prime and platform provider for Mauve, has successfully completed satellite integration and begun its environmental test (EVT) campaign. The payload, comprising a telescope from Media Lario S.r.l., optical fibres from CeramOptec SIA and spectrometers from Avantes BV, has been integrated with the satellite platform and the Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS) from ISISPACE.

Mauve is Blue Skies Space’s first satellite and is equipped with a 13 cm telescope that will observe hundreds of stars in the Ultraviolet and visible wavelengths. The data from Mauve will address a number of science objectives, including providing a greater understanding of stellar flares, their impact on the habitability of neighbouring exoplanets and the stability of different star types. Mauve is scheduled to launch on Transporter-15 in October 2025.

Ian Stotesbury, Lead Systems Engineer at Blue Skies Space, said: “We are elated to see the fully integrated satellite. This is a significant achievement for our team and our partners, who have worked hard to complete the construction on time.”

Gyula Horváth, CEO of C3S LLC, added: “Integrating Mauve was a complex yet inspiring engineering task. Now that this key milestone has been achieved, we feel both proud and reassured to know our contribution supports a mission that will deepen our understanding of stellar activity and exoplanetary systems.”

Following this major milestone, the satellite testing phase has now begun. In the next two months, thermal vacuum chamber testing, vibration testing and EMC tests will be conducted on the satellite, as well as a degaussing campaign to prepare for launch.
